Difference Between Carpenter Bees and Wasps Carpenter bees have robust and shiny black abdomens. Their diet consists of pollen and nectar. Although they may seem aggressive, they rarely sting humans and don’t pose a serious threat. On the other hand, wasps can be identified by their small and cinched waists. They usually eat spiders, insects, and other sources of protein. Unlike bees, wasps can sting humans multiple times.
